Steam-distilled essential oil from the leaves/twigs of Eucalyptus
Aroma: cool, camphoraceous, airy—“spa steam room” mint-eucalyptus vibe.

Key natural constituents (typical ranges)

• 1,8-Cineole (Eucalyptol) ~60–85% → the sharp, clearing aroma

• α-Pinene, limonene, p-cymene, α-terpineol (fresh, piney, slightly citrus)

 Common physical data

• Appearance: colorless to pale yellow, mobile liquid

• Solubility: oil/ethanol-soluble; insoluble in water (use a solubiliser for sprays)

• Relative density (20 °C): ~0.905–0.930

• Refractive index (20 °C): ~1.458–1.470

• Flash point: ~50–56 °C (flammable)

• Storage: cool, well sealed, away from light; oxidizes over time

 

Applications

Fine fragrance

• EDP/Perfume (ethanol): 0.1–2% (it dominates easily; dose low)

• Aromatherapy diffusers: 3–6 drops per 100 mL water

 

Personal care (skin-safe, leave-on/rinse-off)*

• Rinse-off (shampoo, shower gel, soaps): 0.2–1%

• Leave-on (lotions, gels, balms): 0.05–0.3% for a fresh, clearing feel; up to 1% in targeted chest/foot rubs

• Scalp/foot products, sports gels: 0.2–0.8%

 

Home fragrance (non–skin contact)

• Candles / wax melts: 3–8% of wax (often blended with lavender, cedar, rosemary, lemon)

• Room/linen sprays: 0.2–1% with proper solubiliser and fabric testing

Household

• Surface cleaner/degreaser fragrance (the cineole note signals “clean”).

• Odour neutralising blends; some insect-deterrent effect when combined with citronella/lemongrass.

• Sauna/steam room aromas (follow equipment guidelines).
